The Things You See.....

Do you ever have one of those moments where you turn around and go " How in the world...", or " Uhhh, am I reading that right?" These are some of my recent moments....

Missionary Uncle

My baby bro Allen left on his mission last November. He was supposed to go to Brazil, but ended up in the MTC in Utah instead of Brazil, cuz of visa issues. He was in Florida, then Alabama for a while, but has now finally made it to Brazil as of a couple weeks ago. The kids love writing to him every week and are always asking if he has written them! He has been pretty good about keeping in touch, and has on occasion, written them individual letters. We are keeping his in a binder with sheet protectors so that they can reread his letters whenever they want.

If you look closely, each missionary name tag on the notes has one of the kids names on it :)

He's gained some weight I think

Jacks World- Part 2

Me: show Dad what you colored, Jack
Jack: look Dad I made this for you
Me: what is it
Jack: it's a scary monster
Me: tell Dad
Jack: Dad look what I made
Dad: what is it
Jack: it's a bag!
Me: no Jack, tell Dad whats ON the bag
Jack: oh, it's a scary monster

The missionaries came over for dinner and they were talking about how we can't take our stuff with us when we die, so we have to make sure that we "lay up treasures for ourselves in heaven where moth and rust doth not corrupt"......they then asked Jack what treasures he was going to lay up for himself in heaven, and he started talking about his bike and the wii, etc.....they then asked him how he was going to get all the stuff up to heaven.....he thought about it for a minute, "hmmm, I know," he says....."I put all my stuff on a blanket on the ground and I pray really hard and it goes up!"  The elder who had been talking a minute earlier about how much he loves his guns and tractors then says he will have to try that with HIS stuff.

Jack and I are snuggling on the couch
Me: Rayzel go brush your teeth
she comes back 30 seconds later
Me: go brush again cuz I know you didn't just now
Rayzel: I did!
Me: no you didn't
Rayzel: (trying not to smile) yes I did! look!
Me: I don't care, you weren't gone long enough to have done a good job
Rayzel: I don't want to brush them again, I just did them! (rolling her eyes at me, and still trying not to smile)
Me: Do it again NOW, I don't care if you just did them you didn't do them good.
Rayzel: They are already clean though! (almost laughing now)
Me: I don't think so
Jack who has been watching this whole time, stage whispers to Rayzel "you need to put on 'serious face'!"

I had a friend make him a hat that looked like his favorite game, Plants VS Zombies......he spent the rest of the day pretending to eat us. I found the hat in his bed a few days later. Apparently he has been sleeping with it.

Old Projects
