Gotta Love Those Ambulance Rides......

Nana decided to try her hand at climbing trees in our backyard a few weeks ago...on Friday the 13th ironically.....and fell from about 12 feet up while trying to get from one tree to the other...or something like that...the story kept changing....anyway, she had a cut over her right eye that they were able to glue back together and she also fractured her right hip (pubic ramus) and will be on crutches for 4-6 weeks and hopefully in 3 months she will be back to normal. Here are some pics from the ER, cuz what kind of mother would I be if I didn't take blackmail pictures ;)

They said her glasses took the brunt of the fall, but she still had a cut over her eye and the side of her face was all bruised and scraped....
Gimpy leg
Lots of Hunger Games jokes....she brought half the forest in with her lol!
Gimpy McCrutches
Flowers from her "not-boyfriend", who also sent a her nice note, AND his Nintendo DS for her to use while she convalesced. Now THAT is love, when a man gives up his video games for you ;)  He was also a little grumpy at Calvin for talking her into doing dangerous tree climbing stunts. (Calvin is his best friend).

So Tall....

Calvin is now taller than me. I'm not terribly surprised, I think ALL of the kids will be taller than me, but it surprised me how much he's grown over the last year. We measured Nana up to me too, still shorter by the way, and then we measured Calvin against Tom, just for kicks and giggles ;)

Random Pics Off My Phone....

Nana makes REALLY good pie crust....I make the filling....this one is peach...isn't it pretty?
James went to his first birthday party and came back all inked up...
Tom said he ignored all the other children and just ran around after eating a ton of sugar....he came home asleep....
We found out that our turtles like broccoli....and it was hilarious watching them try to eat the floating stalks lol!
Jack brought me a handful of 3 leaf clovers for St. Patty's day... very sweet...he said they were lucky...
Watching General Conference.....
With the grandparents....
Apparently Conference + haircut= too much excitement.....
James at his first primary activity......he preferred sitting in the hall with his old nursery teacher ex-Bishop Davis (left) and eating fruit snacks to actually participating....

Silly James

James really likes school now...at least when he can't go....sometimes he randomly puts on his backpack and clothes and tries to get you to take him to the bus stop....

The Pony Party

Rayzel and Jack spent most of spring break with my parents in VA. Mom has recently been mulling over an opportunity to buy a pony and since she thought it would be a ton of fun for the grandkids, she went ahead and bought it. The pony, whose name is Dasher, boards at the Stake Pres's house, for $100 a month, and they can visit any time. Needless to say, they spent a good amount of time riding and visiting the pony....the kids got to see the cousins too while they were there which was a good time....Dasher can carry up to 130 lbs.....

Calvin At Youth Conference

You can't see his face, but they got a great shot of his shirt and leg....you can identify him by the VFF's and the Chinese coin necklace ;)

The Last First Haircut

James first haircut...and the last time I will be performing a first haircut.....
Turns out that he has 4 cowlicks...two from Tom's side of the family and two from mine....I predict that all his future haircuts will involve a razor.....I always secretly thought he had a big head, but wondered if maybe it was just his hair...nope, it's definitely his head....

Two weeks before the haircut...(I neglected to get a before shot)

A T-Bone Birthday

Nothing fancy, just a family party and cake......I upgraded his phone to a fancy new (almost indestructible) Droid, so, no presents over $5 for the rest of the year ;)

New shirt from his Mom...lookin' good ;)
Happy Birthday!
Orange Dream cake, made by me...and yes, it did taste as good as it sounds ;)
Crying cuz the cake was so good? Or maybe cuz he's 31 now...

Follow The Yellow Brick Road....

Pics of Nana from New Beginnings.....they had a Wizard Of Oz theme....all the class presidents dressed like Dorothy, and the YW presidency were the Scarecrow, the Lion and the Tin Man....she made the shoes and I made the apron and did her hair :)
