Or, as the rest of us pronounce it, Mormon Prom. Calvin nervously asked a girl to go with him, but she said no, then asked him if he was gonna ask someone else....his response, No I don't wanna get rejected again! Poor Calvin. I talked him into going stag with a girl from our ward who was also going alone because her boyfriend couldn't make it. He looked really handsome, and had a wonderful time. I know because he came home and gave me Unsolicited Hugs after telling me he had a great time :)

His only regret? Not being able to find his pink shirt so he had to wear the black one.

Selbyville, DE

Went to visit my friend Nikki in DE this last weekend. I took Jack with me cuz her son is the same age and they've been BFF's since they were a year old. 

We took them to the Salisbury Zoo, and while we were there, Jack picked out a stuffed turtle at the gift shop that he thought James would like. It looks just like the ones we saw in Florida that James loved. 

I took this pic of Jack that's way cute, but on closer inspection I think the turtle is hilarious! But maybe I just haven't gotten out enough lately and it's not really that funny.....

See, if you look closely, it looks like the turtle is sneakily trying to drink from my water bottle :D

A Much Needed Rest- Part 3

We came back from Bmore pretty early on Monday morning, picked up the kids and headed out to see Fort McHenry and get James his free National Parks pass. Afterwards we went out for my birthday dinner. My mom had given me a giftcard for On The Border, so we had Mexican food for dinner. Not as good as mine, but since I didn't have to cook, I can't complain :)

This is a statue of Francis Scott Key, or as my kids like to call him, 'the naked guy' lol!

This plaque reads 'This tree dedicated to Lieutenant Samuel Rodman...'etc etc, and I found it ironic that the tree has been cut down. I hope they plant another one soon.

A Much Needed Rest- Part 2

We spent our second night in Baltimore. Another city that is so close, but we haven't spent much time there. We took off after church on Sunday and arrived around dinnertime. Our hotel room was even bigger than expected, and the view of the harbor was Amazing! I love booking at the last minute and getting great deals :)
We went out looking for someplace to buy bubble bath cuz we Had to take advantage of the massive tub, and ended up at a Whole Foods near Little Italy. Which was Perfect, cuz we were hungry by then. We ate dinner at a great place called Aldo's, then walked to our fav gelato place for dessert, then walked back to the hotel. It was freezing! The bath felt good after being outside in 30 degree rain. Sometimes it's nice to just relax and watch some TV and eat grapes instead of doing the intense sightseeing thing.
I didn't take many pics on this trip, but I do have a video I took of our hotel room, featuring Tom ;)
