The First 10 Years- Sleepy Hollow Part 2.5 AND 3

Sunday afternoon we went back to the Lyndhurst mansion..I wanted to see it in the daylight :)

The Gatehouse
The scarecrow army in the daytime....
There were some really cool ones
And it was much larger than I thought it was.......
Walking up the driveway....see the ghost?
The view from the same side as before
The view from the opposite side...much better!!
The Carriage House, which is now a gift shop
Tom checking out the backyard
This is a Really beautiful piece of property....
The Hudson river
Tom loves this house......
The leaves were pretty
A view from the front......I love this house too.....

We had dinner at The Horseman, a great little diner near our next outing, Horseman's Hollow-a haunted house- which I've never done before....it was only a few blocks away and parking was limited, so, we just walked over :)

The food was great, Tom said he'd eat there again :)
Photo-op with the Great Pumpkin
That was one huge pumpkin....
The Horseman's Hollow.....
The Headless Horseman himself ;)
The venue was another super old cool house....as seen here from a distance, lit up through the trees

We spent Monday napping and watching cable....they were having an Indiana Jones marathon and they just played a different movie every day over and over and over again....we got sick of #4 Really fast and switched to Duck Dynasty and watched it for the first time...now we are hooked lol....we emerged for a few hours for dinner though...

My hunny :)  We had dinner at the Sweetgrass Grill, and the food was Amazing! They only buy seasonal foods from about a dozen local farms so the menu changes weekly based on daily harvests....my favorite was the polenta fries :)
I have a nap hangover look lol!
We hit up a burger place down the street for dessert- rootbeer floats - yummy :)
We headed home Tuesday morning, after sleeping in until 11am. I haven't slept this much since I....well, I don't know, but, I took 3 LONG naps and didn't get up any earlier than 9am and it felt great :D

Calvin Is Freakishly Flexible

I'm sure a few of you have seen him move his baby toe up onto the one next to it....
I should have put him in gymnastics when he was little...he could be working for Cirque Du Soleil making the big bucks by now ;)
I was completely weirded out when he waved at me over his shoulder lol

The First 10 Years- Sleepy Hollow Part 2

WARNING: This post contains a few graphic images  :)

Our second day in Sleepy Hollow was a Sunday. We decided to visit Stone Barns, an organic Amish run farm nearby.

We parked by the turkeys
This boy turkey was harassing all the girl turkeys
The enclosed garden on the left is full of plants...ALL edibles :)
My honey :)   The fruit trees on the left have herbs planted around the bases...
I had to go pee, and they had the coolest porta-potty ever! They turn the waste into compost for the farm
You go, and then ....
You add a handful of this, and then close the toilet lid :) It was the nicest smelling porta potty I've ever used...it had No Odor at all!
Huge greenhouse
Sheep and their guardian :)
Me by the sheep :)
The sheep started milling, and then the dog got up and calmed them down
This large pig was being contained by an electric fence no higher than my knee....
There were lots of pigs on this farm.....
The babies were kept in a separate area with the moms....
This pig sitting in the food trough kinda reminded me of James :)
There were 4 momma pigs in the enclosure.....the baby pigs were harassing them.....I'm so glad I only had to nurse 1 baby at a time and not 10..the baby pigs were really rough :P
Farther out we found the daddy pig
Some poor little kids of both genders were behind us...they were shocked and appalled when the daddy pig turned around....I overheard one little boy asking his mom if that was broccoli.....apparently the kid has never seen broccoli in his life....

More turkeys? I think? They were pretty :)
Turkeys in the trees :)  A few got out of the pen and were trying to get back in...funny :)

After we visited the farm, we had lunch :)
I love the Marx brothers so of course I had to eat here :)
And Tom didn't mind too much ;)
Cool mural inside the restaurant.....

Brick House

Jack recently earned the Physical Fitness belt loop in cub scouts...and hilarity ensued....
